-Jethro Hawg won the 2012 Kerry Brown Memorial Tournament and the SPW Heavyweight Championship by defeating Rob Stardom in the tournament finals. Earlier in the evening Stardom defeated La Sombra in the semi-finals, winning the SPW Heavyweight Championship before losing it to Hawg in the finals.
-“Misfit” Mike Mission & Cory Diamond won the SPW Tag Team Championships on September 22nd on the Paddlewheel Queen. Mike Mission is now a 2-time SPW Tag Team Champion.
-MARIUS defeated Mike Mission on September 20th in Morden to become a 2-time SPW Provincial and AIWF Canadian Champion.
-DJ’s from Sreetz 104.7 FM – Winnipeg ’s #1 Hip Hop, Dance, R&B Station were in attendance at the Kerry Brown Memorial Tournament. Expect to hear about the event on the radio today.
-James Beaver made an impact by assisting in La Sombra losing the SPW Heavyweight Championship and making it clear that he wants to challenge new champion Jethro Hawg to a title match.
-Rob Stardom is now recognized as the shortest reigning SPW Heavyweight Champion in SPW history.
-“Wild Child” Jerin Rose made his in-ring return at Morden Mayhem III forming a tag team with WWE legend Honky Tonk Man!
-Mr. Nasty suffered a shoulder injury that will require surgery.
-Sydney Manson received 13 staples to the back of his head after being hit with a guitar by the returning Jerin Rose at Morden Mayhem III. Manson has received over 25 staples to the back of his head in the last two months. He new refers to himself as Scarhead Manson. Manson didn’t miss any ring time as a result of the staples.
-AJ Sanchez is scheduled to debut for Lucha Libre AAA, Mexico ’s largest wrestling promotion, in November. His stock is on the rise!
-Morden Mayhem III was the highest attended SPW event held in Morden while the Kerry Brown Memorial Tournament was the highest attendance for SPW at the Casa Do Mingo Portuguese Centre. SPW officials were extremely pleased with both events. SPW’s debut on the Paddlewheel Queen was deemed a success with a good attendance, strong matches and 2 features in the Winnipeg Sun!
