A packed house was on hand on Sunday night at the Casa Do Minho for Halloweenpalooza III. Fans were treated to a night of great wrestling action that saw the debut of 3 different wrestlers, 4 championship matches and the crowning of new tag team champions.
Making their SPW debuts was Jay Walker and two Legend City Wrestling stars from St. John’s, Newfoundland Max Powers who took on Samuel and “Dynamite” Dylan Davis who had a fast paced back and forth match against “Aboriginal All-Star” Kevy Chevy.
Chip Fletcher retained his SPW Hardcore Championship a 5-way Steeltown Showdown while Meg the Menace was slated to challenge Lizzy Slade in Wild Women of SPW action but attacked her with a kendo stick before the opening bell leading to a no contest. Slade was carried to the back and her condition is unknown at the moment.
In a 4-way tag team match SYKO & Son of Syko regained the SPW Tag Team Championships making SYKO a 3-time champion and Son of Syko a 2-time champion.
AJ Sanchez wrestled his last match in Winnipeg before heading to Mexico City to make his Lucha Libre AAA debut, both to train in various wrestling gyms and learn from Lucha Libre veterans and to compete on AAA live events throughout Mexico.
MARIUS narrowly defeated Danny Duggan after it seemed Duggan had won but MARIUS had his foot on the ropes, which the ref almost didn’t see and the match continued. In a bit of irony MARIUS defeated Duggan after a low blow and pinning him with both feet on the ropes which the ref didn’t see.
In the 4-way SPW Heavyweight Championship main event Jethro Hawg retained the championship by pinning James Beaver. The match got a little “hardcore” by being declared No DQ with the use of weapons, most notably some barbed wire! SPW officials are already discussing who Jethro Hawg’s next challenger might be.
Steeltown Pro Wrestling returns to live action on Saturday December 1st at the Casa Do Minho (1080 Wall St, Winnipeg) with Christmas Catastrophe 2012!
