-Former WWE Superstar “Highlander” Robbie McAllister returns to SPW on January 11th in Selkirk and January 12th in Winnipeg. Both events are proudly sponsored by Red River Messenger.

-Voting for the 2012 SPW Wrestler of the Year is coming to a close. You have until December 31st to cast your vote.
-James Beaver has been lobbying for a rematch against SPW Heavyweight Champion Jethro Hawg while Rob Stardom is considered No.1 Contender after winning the Christmas Battle Bowl. Jethro Hawg has told SPW officials he is prepared for challenges by both men in the New Year.
-SPW has 5 events confirmed so far; 2 in January, 2 in February and 1 in March. SPW officials are working on a second live event for March with the SPW 5th Anniversary Show taking place in April.
-Since losing the SPW Heavyweight Championship one has to wonder, what’s next for La Sombra? La Sombra is a former SPW Heavyweight, Provincial and Tag Team Champion. He’s won the Red River Rumble, Kerry Brown Memorial Tournament and the Christmas Battle Bowl. The only things left are the SPW Hardcore Championship and SPW Wrestler of the Year Awards. He’ll be a prime candidate for the SPW Lifetime Achievement Award one day after he retires from the ring.
-SPW officials have discussed bringing the SPW Women’s Championship back to Canada. The title, introduced in January 2012, is currently being defended in the United States by Mystik Sexton.
-SPW officials have commissioned a new SPW Hardcore Championship set to debut in the New Year. The new belt will be presented to the champion, currently Chip Fletcher.
-SPW officials are considering potential candidates for the 2013 SPW Lifetime Achievement Award. No date has been set to give out the award.
-For the first time ever SPW will present the Tag Team of the Year Award. Voting will begin in early January and take place throughout the month. Plans are to make this an annual award.
