SPW News & Notes (01/04/13)


-Happy New Year Everyone!

-Red River Messenger presents SPW’s upcoming live events on January 11th in Selkirk and January 12th in Winnipeg featuring former WWE Superstar Robbie McAllister.

-Both live events in January are being filmed and produced for an upcoming television project. SPW officials have been keeping their cards close to the chest regarding the project. Expect more details in the coming weeks.

-Cory Diamond has challenged Samuel to a match on January 11th. SPW officials are finalizing details regarding this match.

-Both Rob Stardom and James Beaver are considered the top two contenders to the SPW Heavyweight Championship currently held by Jethro Hawg. Expect both men to receive championship matches in early 2013.

-The Sons of Anarchy have been lobbying for another crack at the SPW Tag Team Championships currently held by SYKO and Son of Syko who dominated the division in 2012.

-Meanwhile Mad Man Muir has expressed his feelings that Chip Fletcher is undeserving of the SPW Hardcore Championship and believes he would make a better champion. Fletcher is a 3-time champion and has led the hardcore division since its inception in April 2012.

-After 3 weeks of voting, SPW Provincial Champion MARIUS was named the 2012 SteeltownProWrestling.ca Wrestler of the Year.

-SPW officials are looking to revamp the Wild Women of SPW, SPW’s official women’s division. Expect the SPW Women’s Championship to come back into play in 2013.

-Voting for the first ever SteeltownProWrestling.ca Tag Team of the Year Award is ongoing.

-Sydney Manson, referring to himself as Scarhead, was institutionalized over the Christmas holidays and is back at the Eden Asylum. No word yet on his status for January 11th and 12th.

-With 5 live events already confirmed between now and March 8th, SPW officials are excited and energized about SPW’s 5th year in operation.
