SPW on TV…iTV…iPPV

In 2008 Steeltown Pro Wrestling launched two internet television series’, SPW iTV and SPW BlogTV. Both programs were ten minutes in length and were distributed online every week through SteeltownProWrestling.ca, Facebook, MySpace, BlogTV and YouTube. SPW iTV and SPW BlogTV aired every week until the summer of 2010 when both series’ were cancelled in preparation of a new series, SPW SHOWDOWN.

SPW SHOWDOWN was a thirty minute weekly series distributed online through SteeltownProWrestling.ca and GFL Combat Sports (GoFightLive). Featuring the debut of the Wild Women of SPW and WWE Legend Bushwhacker Luke along with the top Steeltown ProStars, SPW SHOWDOWN produced a dozen episodes between October 2010 and January 2011.

Continuing with its partnership, SPW and GFL Combat Sports released two internet pay-per-views in 2011, the Best of Steeltown Pro Vo.1 in April and Best of Steeltown Pro Vol. 2 in June. Steeltown Pro Wrestling became the first independent wrestling promotion in Canada to produce and promote an internet pay-per-view.

In late 2012 rumours began to circulate that Steeltown Pro Wrestling was working on a new television project to be launched in 2013. At the beginning of January 2013 those rumours were confirmed when SPW announced that its two January live events would be TV tapings. Both live events were filmed and currently in post-production, being edited into the first episodes of a new SPW TV series featuring the Steeltown ProStars, the Wild Women of SPW and former WWE Superstar “Highlander” Robbie McAllister.

With years of video production experience from its 50+ DVD releases and 3 weekly internet TV series’ SPW is moving forward into yet another chapter of its storied history.
