After months of lobbying for a one-on-one SPW Heavyweight Championship match, James Beaver’s wishes have been granted! He’ll challenge current champion Jethro Hawg on December 1st as the co-main event of Christmas Catastrophe IV.
James Beaver made a statement during the 3rd annual Kerry Brown Memorial Tournament in September by costing La Sombra the SPW Heavyweight Champion and interfering in the tournament finals between Rob Stardom and Jehro Hawg that resulted in a second SPW Heavyweight Championship switch of the night. With Hawg as champion, James Beaver immediate laid down the challenge, requesting a championship match.
Given the outcome of the 3rd annual Kerry Brown Memorial Tournament, SPW officials signed a 4-way match that featured La Sombra, Rob Stardom and James Beaver challenging Jethro Hawg for the SPW Heavyweight Championship. As the only man in the match that hasn’t held SteeltownPro’s top prize, Beaver fared well and proved that he belonged in the main event and in the title picture. Impressed with his recent aggression and ambition SPW officials decided to give Beaver a chance.
James Beaver challenges SPW Heavyweight Champion Jethro Hawg on Saturday December 1st at Christmas Catastrophe IV at the Casa do Minho Portuguese Center at 1080 Wall Street in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
