As SPW’s 2012 wrestling schedule came to a close I watched the ascension of my mentor Rob Stardom, first winning the SPW Heavyweight Championship and the firmly establishing himself as the No. 1 Contender. I witnessed a man, who I respectfully dislike in Jethro Hawg; prove that age is only a number by winning SPW’s most prestigious rumble and tournament before capturing SPW’s most prestigious championship after a nearly 30 year career.
But as I reflect on the year that has passed I am reminded of my own trials and tribulations beginning the year as SPW Provincial and AIWF Canadian Champion, subsequentially losing those championships to Mike Mission and embarking on a journey to rediscover who I was as a person and a wrestler.
Suffering the loss of two esteemed championships, including losses to WWE Legend Honky Tonk Man and former WWE Superstar Robbie McAllister, I packed my bags and began my travels through this great nation wrestling through Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario and Newfoundland. Met with new challenges and inspired by my brethren in the wrestling business I came to understand my purpose. A purpose I began to fulfill in the second half of the year. Success came quickly as I regained both the SPW Provincial and AIWF Canadian Championships. Since that moment I have gone undefeated, properly setting the stage for 2013.
In what is naively regarded as the final year of existence I re-examined myself through introspective thought, meditation and prayer. Re-evaluating my moral beliefs and innermost convictions I came to realize that I had strayed from the path of righteousness, a path on which I am now fully embarked. Restoring my soul, absolved of my sins and eternally redeemed through the Ministerium de Absolutionem et Redemptionem de Anima, I have been rewarded.
The proof of reward is qualified by virtue of being the SPW Provincial and AIWF Canadian Champion, qualified by virtue of victories over the likes of Mike Mission, Shadow Xtreme, Cory Diamond, La Sombra, Danny Duggan, AJ Sanchez and others. It is qualified by the fact that I have only just begun to scratch the surface of a MARIUS reborn.
Trusting in the people of Steeltown Pro Wrestling, its officials and its fans, it is only a matter of time before I am presented the 2012 SteeltownProWrestling.ca Wrestler of the Year Award. And if 2012 was a year of rebirth, 2013 thus shall be a year of ascension.
The end is near, yes, one age ends and another begins, the Age of MARIUS.
Peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars
This is the dawning of the Age of MARIUS
Absolution and redemption
Harmony and understanding
No more falsehoods or derisions
Golden living dreams of visions
And the mind's true liberation
This is the dawning of the Age of MARIUS
May you all spend a wonderfull Christmas Season and be blessed in the New Year.
With Utmost Sincerity,
