FORMER WWE SUPERSTAR RETURNS

Robbie McAllister
Former WWE Superstar and one half of the Highlanders tag team, Robbie McAllister returns to Steeltown Pro Wrestling on Friday January 11 and Saturday January 12! McAllister made his SPW debut in August 2012 during the Red River Rumble Tour.

YEAR END RANKINGS

SteeltownProWrestling.ca and SPW officials compiled a year-end ranking with a detailed Top 10. The rankings include 75 wrestlers, men and women, who competed for Steeltown Pro Wrestling over the course of 2012. Who cracked the Top 10? Who barely made the list? WHO TO WATCH FOR IN 2013

With the 2012 live event schedule complete SteeltownProWrestling.ca takes a look at four wrestlers keep an eye on in 2013. Only time will tell if our picks are correct and you never know what surprises the year may hold!

WRESTLER OF THE YEAR AWARD

Every year SteeltownProWrestling.ca presents the Wrestler of the Year Award as voted by the fans of SteeltownPro and fellow wrestlers. Ten men have been chosen based on their performances and success throughout 2012. You can cast your vote at http://SteeltownProWrestling.ca! Past winners include “Beautiful” Bobby Jay, SYKO, Big Cliff Corleone and Mr. Nasty! Voting closes on December 31, 2012.

STEELTOWN STORIES BY JOHN HENRY

John Henry reflects on the year that was 2012 in his most recent blog, Steeltown Stories, including the unprecedented amount of SPW Heavyweight Champions crowned, Sydney Manson’s break-out year, SYKO and Son of Syko dominating the tag team ranks, newspaper and TV shows featuring SPW, Chip Fletcher’s career comeback, appearances from WWE Legends and Superstars and wrestling on a boat. CHILDREN’S WISH FOUNDATION

Steeltown Pro Wrestling has been proud to work with the Children’s Wish Foundation over the years including raising more than $700 in cash and donating over $1000 worth of live event tickets. The most recent fundraiser was held at Christmas Catastrophe on December 4th.

STARDOM WINS CHRISTMAS BATTLE BOWL

The second annual Christmas Battle Bowl was a wild affair that included the Wild Women of SPW, ring announcers, referees and ringside staff. In the end it came down to Buddy Wiser and Rob Stardom. Stardom eliminated Wiser to win the Christmas Battle Bowl and earn a championship match of his choice anytime in the New Year. DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that Steeltown Pro Wrestling was the first Canadian independent wrestling promotion to a produce an internet pay-per-view? In 2011, SPW released two internet pay-per-views on GoFightLive (GFL Combat Sports), the Best of SPW Vol. 1 and the Best of SPW Vol. 2. SPW also produced 10 thirty minute episodes of SPW SHOWDOWN between October and December 2010 that was available on-demand through GoFightLive (GFL Combat Sports) and later released on DVD.

AJ SANCHEZ RETURNS FROM MEXICO

AJ Sanchez
AJ Sanchez recently returned from a 2 weeks tour of Mexico City, Mexico where he trained in various dojos with the likes of Apache, Psychosis and Silver King. During the tour Sanchez also attended Lucha Libre AAA TV Tapings and competed for the Perros Del Mal and DTU promotions. By all accounts the tour was very successful and Lucha Libre AAA officials were impressed with his abilities inside the ring. Congratulations go out to AJ Sanchez from all of us at Steeltown Pro Wrestling.

2013 EVENT SCHEDULE

SPW returns to live action in January 2013! The following live event dates have been announced:

January 11th – Memorial Hall (376 Jemima St.) – Selkirk, MB
January 12th – Casa do Minho (1080 Wall St.) – Winnipeg, MB
February 8th – Centennial Hall (100 P.R. 244) – Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, MB
February 9th – TBA

All event tickets are $12, available at the door. Doors open at 6:30 PM with a scheduled bell time of 7:00 PM. All events are family friendly, suitable for all ages.
